The office of township clerk is an elected board position, responsible for recording the actions of the board and maintaining records storage and retention of those important documents. As clerk, Karen is responsible for explaining township government responsibilities, functions and powers, filing of meeting minutes, as well as performing financial accounting functions for the Township, Senior Citizens Center and the Fire Authority. The clerk plays an important role in establishing township policies and board procedures. Official board notices and ordinances adopted by the board are updated and published in the Clerk's department.
A primary statutory function of the township clerk is to encourage and educate the public on voter registration and all aspects of voting. Setting precinct boundaries and hiring highly trained election inspectors are important decisions made by the clerk that determine the voter's ease in casting their ballot. We encourage you to contact our department if you have any questions.
