Dog Licenses

Dog licenses are available for purchase at the Township Treasurer's Department from December 1st through the last day of February of the current year.  After the last day of February, you can purchase licenses at Genesee County Animal Control.  Click on the link below for office hours and contact information.

A license must be obtained for each dog 4 or more months old.

License Fees:

  • Male $20.00       

  • Neutered Male $7.00

  • Female $20.00   

  • Spayed Female $7.00

Delinquent fee (on or after March 1) $40.00

If you received an application in the mail, please bring it with you when applying in person.  You will need to provide the following information when applying for your pet's license:

(We must have documentation from your veterinarian verifying this information.)

Dog's name, color, breed, age, gender, spayed or neutered verification, rabies expiration, vet's name, owner's name (address and phone number).

IMPORTANT:

Rabies certificate must be valid at date of purchase.

If rabies information is not printed on the application you must provide a rabies certificate. (You will receive your copy when you are issued tags.)

When an application is returned by mail with dog tag, retain application for inspection by Animal Control Officer.  Please attach tag to dog's collar for identification.  Computer print-outs by dog license number are available at Animal Control and the Genesee County Treasurer for help in locating the owner of a lost dog.

Penalty:  Application deadline ends on February 28th of each year.  After this date, as provided by law, the fee is $40.00.  Licenses expire on December 31st of each year.
