DAVISON RICHFIELD AREA FIRE DEPARTMENT
EXPLORER POST 653

Meeting times:  Two Sundays per month at 7:00 p.m. at the Fire Hall

In cooperation with Davison Community Schools, high school students who are interested in a career in Public Safety are encouraged to join Explorer Post 653.  Goals of the program include but are not limited to:

  • Learning fire safety and the role of firefighters and officers
  • Learn how to safely and properly use all firefighting equipment
  • Represent the DRAFD in and at community functions
  • Assist in fire prevention assemblies
  • Participate in fund raisers
  • HAVE FUN WHILE LEARNING!

Membership is open to students who have graduated from 8th grade or higher and are at least 14 years of age.  Explorers are expected to maintain a GPA of 2.0 or above.  Any community service completed during meeting times can be applied toward your high school graduation service requirement.  Annual dues are $11.00.

Among many other skills members learn to “catch a hydrant”, receive First Aid and CPR training,   learn about the use of equipment and tools.  This is a great opportunity to find out if a career in fire fighting is for you!
